Over time in the project, a second mobility to Lebanon was conducted in the week of October 24, 2022, and was hosted at the University of Balamand.
The Vice President of Internationalization and Engagement and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Rami Abboud, along with the Consultant to the VP for Internationalization and Director of UOB European Projects, Prof. Antoine Abche, welcomed the participants and wished the participants a pleasant and fruitful journey in Lebanon.
Dr. Bassam Kayyal from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, Dr. Gabriel Perez from the University of Lleida in Spain, Mr. Stephane Aymard from the University of La Rochelle in France, Prof. Mihai Nicolescu from Plasmatrix in Sweden, and Dr. Makram El Bachawati, the SWaTH Project Coordinator, in addition to participants from different Lebanese Higher Education Institutions, were gathered for the first time under one roof.
The Mobility hosted the first physical Project management Board meeting and many technical meetings to discuss the advancement of the project, the progress report, and the European and Lebanese current wastewater treatment practices. In line with this, Prof. Mihai Nicolescu conducted a workshop for the local industries and hospitals at the University of Balamand and another student workshop about system dynamics at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik.
This journey was concluded by a visit to the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, where the participants met the dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, a visit to the Notre Dame University – Louiaze, where they met the Vice President for academic affairs, the Assistant to the Vice President for research, and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and a visit to the Lebanese University, where they met the Director of Branch II.
