During the global engineering week, numerous events were organized by the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Balamand. The SWaTH project had many contributions ranging from seminars to panel discussions. Professor Gabriel Perez from the University of Lleida (UdL), – Spain, conducted a seminar for students from different engineering backgrounds about “Green Infrastructure for Sustainable Cities.” In addition, Professor Rafik Belarbi from the University of La Rochelle (ULR), – France, took part in the engineering seminar and gave a fascinating talk about “Innovative Sustainable Green Materials.”
In particular, the SWaTH project had a significant appearance in the panel discussion that targeted Wastewater, Sustainability, Life Cycle Assessment, Internationalization, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The panelists (Prof.Rami Abboud, Dr. Makram El Bachawati, Dr.Rima Manneh, Dr.Amal Iaaly, Dr. Yasmine Jabali, and Mr.Mike Salem from UOB) and (Prof.Rafik Belarbi from ULR) were from different educational backgrounds. Individuals from UOB and the partner institutions were involved, such as Dr.Wael Hamd, Dr.Marianne Saba, and Ms.Yara Nasr from the University of Balamand – Lebanon, Dr.Ferhat Benmahiddine from La Rochelle University – France, and notable participation from Dr.Joyce Kheir and her students from Lebanese University – Lebanon.
The event was an excellent opportunity for the students to learn from speakers and networks and engage in many talks throughout the event.
