Training Details

Description

Activated carbon (AC) is commonly utilized in water treatment since it is an effective adsorbent with high porosity, large surface area, and high surface reactivity. To evaluate the AC production process’s environmental impacts, an LCA study will be performed using GaBi software to compile the life cycle inventory (LCI) and calculate the potential environmental impacts. This study will follow the four steps of LCA: goal and scope definition, LCI, life cycle impact assessment (LCIA), and interpretation. Until today only very few studies of LCA for AC exist in the literature, which is why the proposed training is considered highly important. This mobility will occur in the Chemical Engineering area from the Department of Computer Science and Industrial Engineering, located in the Igualada Campus of Lleida University.
